Artifact: Backward Design Instructional Model

This artifact illustrates the backward design instructional model, which emphasizes starting with the desired learning outcomes and then developing assessments and instructional activities that align with those outcomes. The visual representation highlights the three key stages of backward design: identifying desired results, determining acceptable evidence of learning, and planning instructional experiences.

Reflection
Understanding backward design has strengthened my approach to instructional planning by reinforcing the importance of beginning with the end goal in mind. Rather than selecting activities or technology first, I can identify what learners need to know or be able to do and then make purposeful decisions about assessment and instruction. I can apply this process when developing eLearning, training programs, and other educational experiences to ensure that instructional decisions remain aligned with measurable learning outcomes and learner needs.
